Springwerks is a full production studio. We shoot product photography ourselves, we run traditional productions when a brief calls for it, and we use AI-accelerated workflows for the rest. Which method we use depends entirely on the brief, not the other way around.
Five ways an image gets made.

Shot on camera, then colour-corrected and retouched by hand. No AI involved at any stage.

A real photograph, extended or cleaned up using advanced AI tools, then retouched by hand. The subject itself is always real.

The product is photographed, or matched precisely to a physical reference. The background and setting are AI-generated, then composited and retouched by hand. No people appear.

Both the scene and the product are AI-generated, checked continuously against a physical reference, then retouched by hand before delivery.

Includes a virtual casting stage, deciding exactly who the AI-generated person is, before anything's produced. Once generated, it's composited and retouched by hand like everything else. This is the one method that triggers Amazon's disclosure requirement, covered below.
WHEN AI DISCLOSURE APPLIES
Some methods need a few extra steps.
Most of what we produce needs nothing further. Only one method, a fully AI-generated person, brings in a couple of extra checks, and only for Amazon and the EU. Real photography, AI-assisted retouching and AI-generated environments without people all need nothing further.
Amazon
The synthetic performer rule.
If an image includes a fully AI-generated person, Amazon adds a small disclosure label to that image on the product page. It's automatic, applied by Amazon once the file's tagged (by us), and it only applies to that one method. It doesn't apply to real people, and it doesn't apply to AI backgrounds or products.
The EU
The AI Act.
The EU AI Act requires AI-generated content to carry a marking showing how it was made. It's broader than Amazon's rule, it applies across the EU regardless of platform, but in practice it lands in the same place for us, method five, a fully AI-generated person. We tag the file, the marking travels with it.
